The teacher
talked about something
She wasn’t
listening
She was
looking at her teacher’s bindi
Her big,
fat bindi
It was
bright red
It reminded
her of the sun
The sun
that gives us vitamin D
“What if
there were no sun?”
She
wondered,
“The world
would be dark
The kids
would have no sunlight to play in
The plants
would bathe in darkness
The world
would not know when to awake
We would be
but, sad without the sun”
She looked
hard at her bindi
The mind
was everything, but distracted
