Lonely?

Outside, everything was bright. Diyas lit, Akash Kandils hung up, firecrackers bursting on every street, such joy!

But, everything seemed dark around me. I had just moved to a new city to find a job. My family was celebrating Diwali together; I had spoken to everyone in the morning.                                              

The empty apartment did not make me any happier, probably why mother wanted me to have a room mate. I slumped on the couch and heaved a sigh. It had been a long and tough few days. But, I had gotten a job just three days ago; I took it as a good sign. Realizing I was hungry I ordered food...again.

Even after the food had arrived it felt quiet and lonely so I watched a movie, I entered its world. I forgot who I was, what I was doing, why I was there and that was my Diwali.

And She Walked

The gods; all well dressed
Seated around a table                                                                                                                                                   

Quietly discussed important matters                                                                                                                      

Silently opened the door;
Walked in                                                                                                                                                                                 

Wearing a black top, ripped jeans
Hair a mess                                                                                                                                                                      

Placed herself on an empty chair;
Laughed at their stupid
opinions                                                                                                                               

Then, with the tip of her finger dropped a cup;                                                                                                        

Hell broke loose                                                                                                                                                                    

And chaos walked out.

Late Night Walk

She opened the door and walked out.
No one noticed.
She walked real slow, then real fast, at the pace of her thoughts.
Before she even knew it, she had reached far off.
She was crying now.
When she was all cried out, she began to laugh.
She was all you could hear on the silent streets.
"Why are you awake? Are you okay?" - Mother said walking into her room
"I'm fine." She said snapping out of her thoughts

Him

She feared, but also loved him

She knew she would have to go to him in the end

And so would everyone else

There was no escape

Who is he you ask?

"What is earth made up of?"

"70% water..."

"No, that's a boring answer."

"Okay. It's made up of...chocolate and....blue paint!"

"And how did we get here?"

"We flew here."

"From where?"

"The moon."

"Why?"

"Because a big monster destroyed our house on the moon."

"And we flew here?"

"Yes."

"We could fly?"

"Yes."

"Why can't I fly?"

"Because we learnt how to live on earth."

"But we could fly on earth too."

"Yes we could. But over here....we have cars to take us everywhere."

"Okay. Goodnight."

"Finally."
